Project Kaushal - STEM Lab - Mini Science Center
2025
The "Project Kaushal – Mini Science Centre" is an innovative initiative aimed at nurturing scientific curiosity and foundational learning among children from marginalized communities. Implemented in partnership with CRY – Child Rights and You, the project seeks to bridge the learning gaps in STEM education by setting up Mini Science Centres (MSCs) in government schools. These centres will be equipped with over 80 interactive models and teaching aids aligned with the national curriculum for grades 5 to 10. By promoting experiential learning and teacher training, the project will enable students to grasp complex scientific and mathematical concepts with ease and enthusiasm.
The intervention is rooted in the belief that access to quality education—particularly in science and technology—can empower children and open doors to a brighter future. The project will directly benefit over 800 children in West Bengal, while also creating a sustainable impact through capacity building of teachers and active engagement with school authorities and local governance structures. With a strong focus on inclusion, the initiative pays special attention to reaching out to first-generation learners, girls, and children from vulnerable backgrounds. Project Kaushal is a step toward creating equitable educational spaces where all children can dream, learn, and thrive.
